How this informs me:

Altogether I think I did a good job on the atmosphere created with my mix, specifically due to the chords and tone I was using which were specifically referenced. People seem to like the dissonant nature of the song due to the lead guitar work which i made intentionally unconventional. Someone saying that it reminds them of dinosaur jr. also helps my cause a lot with them being one of my main influences for this piece. In future mixes it does seem that I need to use automation a lot more, most likely due to the fact that people describe losing certain tracks within the mix, i definitely need to adjust my levels in accordance with the dynamics. All the genres described are either what I was going for or adjacent so I am very happy with that outcome. It seems the only other things I need to make an improvement on is the timing of certain sections with a respondent pointing out that one of my sections has 7 bars instead of 8, which when being in 4/4 time is very confusing for the listener and the studio drummer (it was a challenge while recording). In the future I will not make these errors when recording my own material and will take all this criticism and praise into account.

Lyrics I prepared:

Intro:

N/A

Verse:

Never wished I saw my deathbed

Sitting up there too honest

The way it looks so clear, I don't know just where to go

Away from the spit out process of maturing

Chorus:

Aaaaaaaaa

Refuse to cope

Ohhhhhhhh

Hypocritical

Aaaaaaaaa

Mask it all to not see through the ruseeeeee

Verse:

Never saw you refuse anything

So when it's back on me you act like a child

Cheers up to the sky, I'll forget this all again sometime

Hate them knowing you're no better

Chorus:

Aaaaaaaaa

Refuse to cope

Ohhhhhhhh

Hypocritical

Bridge:

Can't ever forget

What was left for me

It's my own doing

Now leave it be

Solo:

N/A

Chorus:

Aaaaaaaaa

Refuse to cope

Ohhhhhhhh

Hypocritical

Aaaaaaaaa

Mask it all to not see through the ruseeeeee

Outro:

Spat out of my thoughts

Chewed up and forgot

A dogwhistle away

Working my fate

Spat out of my thoughts

Chewed up and forgot

A dogwhistle away

Working my fate
