Strengths:

  • Far improved stage presence and audience interaction.

  • Good improvisation skills.

  • Can learn songs and pieces quickly.

  • Improved musical theory knowledge.

  • Good at writing chord progressions.

  • Varied music taste which works its way into my songwriting influences.

  • Multi instrumentalist.

  • Confidence in my abilities.

  • Able to clean sing and fry scream.

  • Able to adapt into unusual band environments.

  • Distinct bass playing sound.

Weaknesses:

  • Too eager and need to humble myself sometimes when i'm out of my depth.

  • Frequent writers block.

  • I play for myself and not the song sometimes.

  • Sometimes clueless when dealing with advanced music recording software.

  • My communication with foreign bandmates could improve.

  • Lack of enthusiasm sometimes leads to mistakes.

  • Vocal wise, sometimes I try to imitate rather than make my own style. 

  • Sometimes shaky with my soft vocals. 

  • Sometimes my guitar playing can be sloppy leading to a loss of rhythm.

  • Need to improve my picking technique on bass.​

Opportunities:

Threats:

  • Gigs with my extracurricular band.

  • Offers for playing to be sampled for producers.

  • Recording at 'The Barnyard' with Barney.

  • Roadie work at the Torquay Arena. 

  • Pub gigs and open mic nights with my secondary band for extra money. 

  • The college trip to Milan university of music and performing arts.

  • Possible local music studio apprenticeships.

  • Forming musical relationships with my peers in college.

  • Battle of the bands. 

  • Musical connections with other local bands, producers and musicians.

  • The band falling apart after universities.

  • Low paying job makes me lose free time for music and limited funds for my passion. 

  • Rejection of work at various studios.

  • Physical injury which could limit my playing.

  • Difference of musical interests compared to local venues.

  • Not taken seriously due to age. 

  • ​I can't drive making it hard to go far geographically.​

  • There are musicians better than me which I could be replaced by in any musical job or band dynamic.

  • Hearing loss.

  • Under 18 means i am not allowed to play at a large number of venues or legally allowed to do many things that could advance me musically.
